Among corporate leaders, microdosing is a well-known “productivity tip.” Microdosers frequently consume LSD or magic mushrooms in minute doses. At these levels, people indicate that while they don’t have mind-blowing, psychedelic experiences, they do feel more creative and focused, which can enhance work performance, promote better relationships, and generally lower stress and the demands of daily life. If its advocates are to be believed, Microdosing LSD provides an alternative to a period when existential anxiety and digital distractions are the norm—a cup of coffee with a dash of Tony Robbins. But until recently, it was impossible to tell whether anything was just hype or real.
This is due to the fact that until recently, microdoses were not investigated in placebo-controlled experiments. Towards the end of last year, the first placebo-controlled microdose experiment was published. According to the study, LSD microdoses had a substantial impact on how respondents perceived time, which let them more accurately recreate lost time periods. Even while it does not prove that microdoses of LSD act as a novel cognitive enhancer, the study starts to build a convincing picture of how LSD affects the brain’s perceptual and cognitive processes in a way that may encourage increased creativity and focus.
Workings of LSD Microdosage:
Microdosing is the practise of ingesting LSD in tiny doses that are insufficiently powerful to cause psychedelic effects or significantly alter consciousness. These tiny dosages of psychedelics are often taken on a regular basis, such as once per set number of hours or days over a long period of time. Typically, the dosage is between one-tenth and one-twentieth of a dose used for recreational purposes. According to a 2019 study, the majority of people who use psychedelic drugs like LSD follow one of three microdosing rules:
Taking microdoses for two days in a row following two days of nondosing taking microdoses only on weekdays and not on weekends daily medication microdoses The majority of participants in the study microdosed psychedelics for periods ranging from a week to two years. The review also discovered that almost half of the participants created their own microdosing protocol. It is important to note that scientists have not yet confirmed whether consuming modest quantities of LSD has any meaningful health benefits. In one of the few recent experiments that looked at microdosing the drug, researchers discovered that LSD had no effect on mental focus.
